Amanda Grayson is found dead at the bottom of the stairs in her Brooklyn brownstone, and her husband Zach is the primary suspect. He calls on his old law school friend Lizzie to help him out, and in trying to prove his innocence we uncover the secrets and cracks in the families throughout their wealthy neighborhood.

I think I need a break from thrillers because this was just okay for me. My favorite stories leave me shocked and audibly gasping as I start piecing it together and this just didn’t quite do it. It’s still an interesting story but was a slower burn and it took me some time to get used to the alternating narrators. I also thought it sometimes got too caught up in the legalese and I wasn’t a fan of the characters - none of them were very likable to me.

If you like Big Little Lies and seeing the wealthy get called out on their not-so-perfect lives then give this one a read
