I really liked this book. I'm a big fan of mysteries, but this one was one of the better ones that I've read in awhile.

There were a lot of things that I liked about this book, but one thing I really liked was the main characters. The book features the perspective of two women Lizzie, an attorney representing a man named Zach Grayson, and Amanda, Zach's wife that he is suspected of murdering. I thought the characters were both really well fleshed out, there was a lot of depth to each of them - they each had their flaws but over all you were rooting for them (or mourning them in the case of Amanda).

One thing that I really appreciated about this book was that it didn't rely on one big, heavily publicized, buzzed-about twist that I was then anticipating. So often mysteries hype some major twist that you'll never see coming and I find that as a result I just...do see it coming. This book I thought did a great job of weaving together characters and stories and, although my prediction of the murderer was ultimately correct, I thought the author did a great job of adding in plenty of red herrings.

I would definitely recommend this to someone who enjoyed Big Little Lies but wouldn't mind if it had been a little darker!
