Lizzie is an attorney who receives a call from Zach, a former law school classmate, after years without contact. He has been arrested for assaulting a police officer when Zach’s wife, Amanda, has been found murdered in their home.
Told from the perspectives of Lizzie in the days after Zach’s arrest, and Amanda in the week leading up to a neighborhood party, the story was told brilliantly. It seems like it’s harder to write characters to hate more than it is the likable ones, and there were some that were truly detestable. Filled with so many secrets, flawed relationships and some unreliable narration, this one kept me guessing, A Good Marriage is a well paced thriller with a satisfying climax.
