Lizzie Kitsakis' life is falling apart, despite having a job at one of the most elite law firms in New York. Her marriage is strained in ways she never thought possible, she's broke, and she'd give anything to return to her ridiculously underpaid job as a federal prosecutor. Things couldn't seemingly get worse- until the night she receives a call from old college friend Zach. Zach's wife Amanda was found dead at the bottom of the stairs in their Brooklyn Brownstone, and he's now the primary suspect. Now Lizzie's left to question what exactly makes for a good marriage.

It definitely took me awhile to figure out who the killer was, which made this a fun read. It wasn't heavy at all and I found myself reading through this relatively quickly. This isn't an action-packed thriller, but more of a psychological slow burn. Every character in this story is super unlikable. There were some aspects of the novel that I found distracting, like chapters that seemed insignificant and a lack of major character development. But overall, I enjoyed this one.
