This book had me HOOKED. I find myself a bit jaded these days when it comes to twisty thrillers with unreliable characters, because I always find everything so predictable. While I did figure out most of this book, I just had such a fun time reading it. My only gripe is that I think there were too many unnecessary subplots that did nothing to progress the story.
Amanda is a gorgeous young mother who is found murdered after her neighbor’s party. Her husband Zach is being held at Rikers, a prison notorious for its brutality. Desperate to clear his name, he calls upon an old law school friend he hasn’t spoken to in at least a decade, for help. This book was very engrossing and the style made the story flow effortlessly. I liked how transcripts from the trial were incorporated to break things up, they integrated perfectly into the story. I will definitely check out future books from this author.
