Where there's a murder there's a mystery! I was completely captivated by the first chapter, Lizzie's old college friend Zach calls in an act of desperation - he's in jail at Rikers, likely under suspicion for murdering his wife - and needs help. The book then took a turn with Amanda, who I honestly did not even register was Zach's wife until I went back to try and understand the purpose of the chapter. On the second read, it was more intriguing, but definitely lost the captivating element for me.
