You know when a book sounds so great that you're worried it's too good to be true? I was so worried that was about to happen when I picked up this book. I adore reading sapphic fantasy and Treasure Island is one of my all-time favorites. I knew this would be either 5 stars or 1 star for me. Luckily, it was a hard 5!
I tend to like darker fantasy (especially when it comes to pirates). However, this was like a breath of fresh air. It was so refreshing to read something totally opposite of what I was expecting, yet better than I could have imagined myself. Honestly, I have absolutely no qualms about this book. I would change literally nothing- not a single word! It was absolute perfection.
After picking this up I'm dying for more by CB Lee. The second I finished, I made an order for the entire Sidekick Squad series. Fingers crossed that those are just as good!
