A Clash of Steel, A Treasure Island Remix was a fun read; since I never did read Treasure Island, I did not have a "pre-set tape" of the story. So everything was new to me.

The adventure through Canton, when the girls first met was quite an escapade, and full of deliciousness. And when the sailing of the seas began the adventure continued with enthusiasm of what was to be. Rich with treasure, did they succeed?

The two girls, Anh and Xiang, were a delight. Their personalities came through with such realism. That I came away from the story with them as new 'friends'.

I enjoyed the twists the story had, some I saw coming and some surprised me. I will not give them away.

I'm so glad that the book had how to pronounce the names. Thank you.(I wish all books did that). Also in the back of the book are the "Author's Note", "Language Notes" and "Historical Notes", all defiantly worth reading. It was educational for me.
