KT, Jesse, and Gabe are three vastly different teens, one into guitar, one magic, and one swimming, who have been brought together by the one thing they share, the sperm of the same donor father. Essentially strangers and not even sure they like each other, they are suddenly crammed together in a "borrowed" Jeep, driving across country on a quest to meet the dad they share, but know nothing about. The situation is bizarre, and the road trip outlandish, marked by hilarious exploits and disasters, satisfying discoveries and triumphs. The three teens are well-drawn, appealing, and authentic; readers will care about and root for them as they move from sparring to sharing and caring. In this case, the journey, to friendship and family, is definitely more important than the destination. Ride along!
